La compañía de Cupertino aún no ha presentado su primera generación de gafas inteligentes, que apunta a estar compuesta de un casco de realidad virtual (RV) y un visor de realidad mixta.
La tecnológica registró recientemente el sistema operativo realityOS que irá integrado previsiblemente en estos nuevos dispositivos. Ahora, el analista Ming-Chi Kuo adelanta en su sitio dentro de la plataforma Medium que Apple trabaja ya en la segunda generación de estas gafas inteligentes, que serán de realidad mixta y de realidad aumentada.
Este experto sostiene que la tecnológica estudia el lanzamiento de varios modelos, incluidos unos más económicos. Además, espera que los proveedores de Apple empiecen a hacerle llegar los componentes en la segunda mitad de 2024 de cara al lanzamiento de los dispositivos en los seis primeros meses de 2025.
Ming-Chi Kuo destaca entre estos componentes las lentes del visor, que reciben el nombre de ASP Pancake. El coste de un par de estas lentes se aproximará a los 40 dólares en la primera generación.
De cara a la segunda generación, el experto prevé que los costes aumenten para “mejorar la experiencia visual y el diseño del factor de forma”, que define el tamaño, entre otras especificaciones físicas, de los componentes.
El analista anticipa que circulen por el mercado 10 millones de unidades de las gafas de Apple para 2025 o 2026. Una cifra que ve posible gracias a la “estrategia de segmentación de producto” de la ya citada segunda generación y al ecosistema de la propia compañía.
